Barrel to guitar – The Sister Moon project for Sting’s Winery

In the summer of 2023, it was an honor to craft a unique bass for Sting’s prestigious venue, il Palagio, set among the breathtaking hills of Tuscany. Renowned for its fine wines, this location is not only a symbol of luxury but also a celebration of Tuscan heritage. The bass was designed with the utmost care, reflecting both the legacy of the estate and the world-class music it is inspired by.

The body of the bass was carved in reclaimed wood from the very barrel that once held il Palagio’s iconic Sister Moon wine, and framed inside our signature aged chestnut wood. This choice of materials not only ensures a rich, resonant tone but also pays tribute to the estate’s deep roots in winemaking. An engraving stating “Sister Moon” enhances the instrument’s connection to its origins.

With a single-coil walnut pickup and a neck crafted from Canadian roasted maple, pau ferro, and Tuscan olive wood blocks, the bass offers unparalleled playability and tone. Every detail was carefully selected to honor the estate’s craftsmanship and Sting’s own love for the Tuscan landscape and its rich history.

This plastic-free bass embodies Paoletti Guitars’ commitment to sustainability, with each piece thoughtfully chosen for its natural beauty and environmental impact. Crafting an instrument for an artist like Sting, who shares a profound appreciation for Tuscany’s heritage and the finest music, has been a privilege and a testament to Paoletti’s passion for excellence.

At Paoletti’s Custom Shop, we take pride in turning unique ideas into reality, and this bass is a reflection of our shared love for exceptional music and timeless craftsmanship.
